DON'T HATE ME, MOM

Twenty years ago I gave birth to a boy, his face was pretty handsome but seemed a little stupid. Sam, my husband named him Eric. the longer he grows, it becomes clearer that his retarded. I wanted to give him to another person to make him as a slave or servant. But Sam prevented that bad intention. finally I was forced to rise him. In the second year after Eric was born, I also gave born to a cute and very beautiful girl. I named him angelica. I loved angelica so much, also Sam. We often take her to park and buy some beautiful clothes. But it wasn't the case with Eric. HE just had some set of worn clothes. Sam intended to also buy for for him. But I always forbade him under the pretext of saving. Sam always followed my said.
when Angelica was 2, Sam passed away. Eric had been 4 that time. Our family had been poor with the accumulate debt. finally I took an action that made me sorry whole my life. I leaved my home birth with Angelica. Eric who was sleeping I just leaved him. Then I lived in hut after my house sold to pay our debts. A year... 2 years... 5 years... 10 years passed after that moment.
I got married again with Brad, an adult male. Our mirage age stepped on the fifth year. Thanks to Brad, my bad natures that at the first time was grumpy, selfish, and haughty, changed little by little to more patient and loving. No one remember about Eric any more and no one name him.
Until one night. A night that I dreamed about a boy. his face was pretty handsome but seemed so pale. He was looking at me. While smiling he said, "Auntie, do auntie know my mommy? I velly miss hel." After saying that he wanted to go, bit I stopped him. "wait... It seems I know you. what's your name?"
"My name is Elic, auntie."
"Eric? Oh my god...you're really Eric?"
I immediately gasped and woke up. Guilt, regret and many other strange feelings hit me. Suddenly flashed back the ironic story that happened first as film played in my mind. only now I realized how bad was what I did first. It felt like I wanted to die that time. Yes, I have to die...die...die... When there just left one inch between the knife and my wrist, Eric's shadow crossed back in my mind. Yes Eric, mommy will come and pick you up...
that afternoon I parked my blue car beside a hut, and Brad with wondering look was staring at me.
"Mary, what does really happen?"
"Oh, Brad, you will hate after I tel you what I've done first." But I told him with a sob.
God is really good to me. He gave me a very kind and understanding husband. After I stopped crying, I got out from my car and followed by Brad from behind. My eyes was staring at the hut that stretched two yards in front of me. I begin to remember how I had lived in that hut several months and Eric...Eric...I leaved Eric there 10 years ago. with sad feelings I ran into the hut and opened it's door that made of bamboo. So dark... nothing was seen! My eyes slowly accustomed with the darkness at that little room. But I didn't find anyone there. Only a piece of worn cloth lying on the floor.
I took that cloth while observing it carefully... My eyes began to glaze... I know that piece of cloth, it was Eric's worn cloth that every day he wears... A few moments later, with feelings that hard to explain, I went out from that room... My tears are flowing swift. That time I was just quiet. A few moments later I and Brad went to ride our car and leave the place. But, I saw someone behind our car. I was surprised because that time was so dark. Then the face of that person was seen that was so dirty. She was an old woman. I was shocked again when she called me with her hoarse voice.
"Hey... Who are you? What do you want here?"
With a courage, I asked her, "Ma'am, do you know a boy named Eric that was living here?" She answered, "If you are his mother, you are really a damned woman! You know, 10 years ago since you leaved him here, Eric kept waiting for his mother and calling, 'Mommy... Mommy...'because I felt sorry for him, I often give some food to him and invite him to stay with me. Although I'm poor and just working as a scavenger, but I never leave my son like that! Three year ago he left this paper. For year he learned how write just to write this letter for you..."
And I read the words in that paper...
"Mommy...Why Mommy never come back again...??
Mommy is angry with Eric, isn't you? Mom, just let Eric go, but Mommy have to promise to not be mad at Eric any more. Bye, Mom..." I screamed hysterically reading that letter.
"please tell me...Tell me where is he now? I promise I will love him now! I never leave him again! Pleas tell me..!!"
Brad hugs my body that was shaking hard.
"Ma'am everything is late now. One day before ma'am come, Eric passed away. His body was so thin, he was so weak. only for the sake of waiting for you he was willing to stand behind this hut without daring to go inside. He was afraid when his Mommy comes, his Mommy will go again if she saw him there...He was just wishing that can see his Mommy from behind of this hut...Even rain was swift, with his weak condition he kept waiting for you...Mrs your sin is not forgivable."
after that I passed out and didn't remember anything anymore.

A Beautiful True Love Story

One day, a young guy and a young girl fell in love.

But the guy came from a poor family. The girl’s parents weren’t too happy.

So the young man decided not only to court the girl but to court her parents as well. In time, the parents saw that he was a good man and was worthy of their daughter’s hand.

But there was another problem: The man was a soldier. Soon, war broke out and he was being sent overseas for a year. The week before he left, the man knelt on his knee and asked his lady love, “Will you marry me?” She wiped a tear, said yes, and they were engaged. They agreed that when he got back in one year, they would get married.

But tragedy struck. A few days after he left, the girl had a major vehicular accident. It was a head-on collision.

When she woke up in the hospital, she saw her father and mother crying. Immediately, she knew there was something wrong.

She later found out that she suffered brain injury. The part of her brain that controlled her face muscles was damaged. Her once lovely face was now disfigured. She cried as she saw herself in the mirror. “Yesterday, I was beautiful. Today, I’m a monster.” Her body was also covered with so many ugly wounds.

Right there and then, she decided to release her fiancĂ© from their promise. She knew he wouldn’t want her anymore. She would forget about him and never see him again.

For one year, the soldier wrote many letters—but she wouldn’t answer. He phoned her many times but she wouldn’t return her calls.

But after one year, the mother walked into her room and announced, “He’s back from the war.”

The girl shouted, “No! Please don’t tell him about me. Don’t tell him I’m here!”

The mother said, “He’s getting married,” and handed her a wedding invitation.

The girl’s heart sank. She knew she still loved him—but she had to forget him now.

With great sadness, she opened the wedding invitation.

And then she saw her name on it!

Confused, she asked, “What is this?”

That was when the young man entered her room with a bouquet of flowers. He knelt beside her and asked, “Will you marry me?”

The girl covered her face with her hands and said, “I’m ugly!”

The man said, “Without your permission, your mother sent me your photos. When I saw your photos, I realized that nothing has changed. You’re still the person I fell in love. You’re still as beautiful as ever. Because I love you!”

Remember Those Who Serve

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. “How much is an ice cream sundae?” he asked. “50¢,” replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.

“Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?” he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient. “35¢!” she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins. “I’ll have the plain ice cream,” he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left.

When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies. You see, he couldn’t have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

Live And Work

Father was a hardworking man who delivered bread as a living to support his wife and three children. He spent all his evenings after work attending classes, hoping to improve himself so that he could one day find a better paying job. Except for Sundays, Father hardly ate a meal together with his family. He worked and studied very hard because he wanted to provide his family with the best money could buy.

Whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned that he was doing all this for them. But he often yearned to spend more time with his family.

The day came when the examination results were announced. To his joy, Father passed, and with distinctions too! Soon after, he was offered a good job as a senior supervisor which paid handsomely.

Like a dream come true, Father could now afford to provide his family with life’s little luxuries like nice clothing, fine food and vacation abroad.

However, the family still did not get to see father for most of the week. He continued to work very hard, hoping to be promoted to the position of manager. In fact, to make himself a worthily candidate for the promotion, he enrolled for another course in the open university.

Again, whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned that he was doing all this for them. But he often yearned to spend more time with his family.

Father’s hard work paid off and he was promoted. Jubilantly, he decided to hire a maid to relieve his wife from her domestic tasks. He also felt that their three-room flat was no longer big enough, it would be nice for his family to be able to enjoy the facilities and comfort of a condominium. Having experienced the rewards of his hard work many times before, Father resolved to further his studies and work at being promoted again. The family still did not get to see much of him. In fact, sometimes Father had to work on Sundays entertaining clients. Again, whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned that he was doing all this for them. But he often yearned to spend more time with his family.

As expected, Father’s hard work paid off again and he bought a beautiful condominium overlooking the coast of Singapore. On the first Sunday evening at their new home, Father declared to his family that he decided not to take anymore courses or pursue any more promotions. From then on he was going to devote more time to his family.

Father did not wake up the next day.

My Mom Only Had One Eye

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, ‘EEEE, your mom only has one eye!’

I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I confronted her that day and said, ‘ If you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?’

My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.

Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, ‘How dare you come to my house and scare my children!’ GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!’

And to this, my mother quietly answered, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,’ and she disappeared out of sight.

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

‘My dearest son,

I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children.

I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gave you mine.

I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. With all my love to you,
Your mother.’
